Getting In Touch

Reaching out for help is often a big step, especially when choosing a therapist. It’s natural to feel uncertain, and while a website can’t replace a personal connection, I believe the therapeutic relationship has transformative potential. If you’re ready to connect, I offer various ways to begin our journey.

If after looking through the content on the site you would like to meet, I’ve tried to offer a few possibilities for making first contact with the hope that one of them will feel accessible. If privacy is of utmost concern please read my privacy policy first.

Ways to reach me:

  • Secure email: ben@benadamscounseling.com

  • Leaving a voicemail: 1-206-552-0562

  • Request an appointment for an initial consultation using the button below.

The Initial Consultation

My practice operates across time zones to accommodate clients worldwide. Generally I have availability on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the mornings and evenings, however this may vary based on your location. Please request a consultation to view my current availability.

I have two kinds of consultations to make our first connection as accessible as possible:

  • a free and no-obligation 15 minute consultation to answer your questions before we schedule our first full-length session
  • a full 53 minute no-obligation consultation that is free unless we book a second session, at which point the consultation will be $70, or half the rate of a full session

A
ll sessions are remote via video conference or telephone. After requesting a consultation you will be given instructions on how to connect for our first meeting together.

What to Expect

The consultation is a chance for us to meet and make an assessment of each other. My hope is that you will be provided the opportunity to express your therapeutic goals, ask me any questions you may have about me and how I practice, and even have a felt sense for what our work will be together.

I may also have some biographical questions to explore with you in order to help ascertain how equipped I may be to help you with your therapeutic goals. If I have any concerns about my capability to help you meet your goals, then we will have a conversation about these concerns and the possibility of helping you find a therapist that can be of better assistance. Alternatively, If I feel that I can be of help, then  I will let you know of my willingness to commit to regular sessions before we end.

After the initial consultation, if you would like to continue meeting we can set up another appointment to begin regular sessions. During the first regular session I will review with you my privacy practices, my disclosure statement and my consent to treatment forms. This part of the first regular session can be expedited by coming having first read these forms and policies here.
